Product Manager, Enzyme Therapies 

Hybrid - Frankfurt, Germany 

Closing date: Tuesday 4th August

The position is based hybrid, with regular touchpoints in the Frankfurt am Main or Munich Office, within BioMarin Commercial Organization and reporting directly to the Commercial Lead, Enzyme Therapies.

This role is responsible for leveraging market research and analytics critical to direct brand strategies and optimizing market development plan and tactics. Analyzes complex problems and situations, provides logical recommendations, and leads any required action planning. Accountable for successful management of projects with an ability to push a project to completion. Responsible for establishing superior working relationships with Key Opinion Leaders, involved in Physician Disease Education Programs /Activities.

The role will have high visibility and clear accountability for transformational projects aimed at supporting the goal of allowing broader access to care, in co-ordination with Medical, Public Affairs, Government and Access Departments at BioMarin. The role will represent Germany in the newly established Global Integrated Brand Teams. Cross functional activities may include disease awareness campaigns, screening initiatives and information about linkage to care.

Job duties include:

  • Lead the German Marketing workstream within the Enzyme Therapies Business Unit, instilling a high sense of accountability and performance within the team while role modeling a growth mindset
  • Lead the collaboration between the in-country Marketing and the Global Enzyme Therapies Marketing team ensuring strategic alignment that can support and address market opportunities and challenges
  • Partner with the German team to develop and shape initiatives which could help generate brand demand
  • Play a key role in supporting and leading discussions at brand team meetings regarding initiatives that require cross functional feedback
  • Work closely with brand team members to develop and execute derivative promotional materials (e.g., panels, leave behinds, rep triggered emails)
  • Collaborate with key cross-functional partners such as Medical Affairs, Value, Access and Strategic Pricing and Pipeline & Portfolio Strategy to develop a cohesive, insights-driven brand strategy and meeting the needs of the German market, balancing both near-term and long- term priorities
  • Deliver & ensure consistent branding, positioning, and messaging platforms across Germany
  • Develop, track, assess and align organization around key brand performance metrics
  • Leverage knowledge of the current and future market to provide insights for forecasting, strategic and corporate planning

Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

  • BA/BS in Business or Life Sciences
  • 5+ years of professional marketing experience in biotechnology or pharmaceuticals
  • In-line marketing experience with senior brand responsibility and people management in dynamic and innovative therapeutic areas
  • Strong understanding of market access and medical strategy
  • Experience planning and executing at least one product launch
  • Experience in competitive therapeutic areas and markets
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills, ability to master complexity and integrate insights into strategies and actions
  • Strong communication skills, ability to work with senior leaders
  • Strong sense of accountability and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic and high-pressure environment, flexible and adaptable to a changing environment
  • Ability to manage multiple demands and priorities on time, lead teams, gain alignment and drive decision making
  • Self-starter who demonstrates energy and enthusiasm, bringing a positive solution-oriented approach to challenges
